At the age of fifteen I caught C diff. I have absolutely no idea how I did! Anyways I took flagyl as prescribed by the doctor but the infection come back again and again. The fourth time my doctor prescribed me with probiotics and told me about them. Finally with the combination of the probiotics and antibiotics it stopped and hasn’t been back since. My immune system became so badly injured from the repeated infection that my body starting attacking my joints and stomach leading to the diagnosis of Crohn’s disease and Rhematoid Arthrtis. I’ve been severely depressed since knowing that this could have been prevented if my doctor had informed me of probiotics. My gut wouldn’t have been so damaged that my immune system wouldn’t haven’t attacked. I still have Arthrtis and Crohns pain. How do I come back from that? How do I heal? I don’t know even if I can since my gut got so badly injured. I stumbled upon this website and hopefully after five years someone will give me an answer. Thank you.

Hi Aimee, I am so sorry that you are dealing with those health conditions. There is definitely hope for healing the gut, but it does take knowledge and willpower. Please read the information I provided on GI Issues and Allergies. There are supplements listed at the bottom that can help. Please also read my information on the SCD/GAPS diet. I, personally, have put my Ulcerative Colitis in remission with this information. I hope that this information helps! I wish you the best!

I too have suffered with c diff, after 2 pills of clindamycin that I never even needed. It took 10 months, 7 hospital admissions and 2 fecal transplants. How long did you do the bleach sterilizing of your home after c diff? I have been negative for 7 months, but am still afraid of picking it up again in my home. Any insight? Thanks!
